The Galibore Nature Camp, which is tucked away in the Cauvery River's banks' deciduous woodlands, is a good choice for a true sensation of seclusion. It is utterly remote from what we would consider civilization and is named after the windswept mound known as Galibore that towers behind it. Here, the wilderness takes on a richer shade of green due to the surrounding hills.
Anglers who were chasing the mahseer, sometimes known as the tiger with fins, used to love fishing in the Camp's distinctive rapids. Even though you can't fish in these waters, the Camp has a wide variety of other activities. At Galibore, you can see spotted deers, the critically endangered grizzled giant squirrel, marsh crocodiles, turtles, and snakes. With over 230 species of birds, including fish eagles, green pigeons, kingfishers, and owls, birdwatchers won't be let down either.
Our naturalists and staff will be more than happy to provide you with advice and aid in your exploration of nature's more delicate elements. Here, meals are accompanied by a hearty helping of landscape. If you look closely enough from the Gol Ghar, where meals are given, you're guaranteed to see a lot of birds.
Evenings with the grill by the river and the bonfire serve as social gathering points for our visitors. But if you prefer silence, you can choose to chat with the stars while lying back in a lawn chair or sprawled out in a hammock while waiting for your grilled fish, chicken, or vegetables. A hammock is located outside each tent. A secure tumbling net is available for those seeking a little bit more rowdy exercise. The goal at Galibore is to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature and then leave revitalised.
With 200 and more species of rare animals and birds, the forests surrounding the Galibore Nature Camp are loaded with a natural bounty. Even after being located at such a remote location, the nature camp still offers you an array of city-like facilities and amenities. Other than all this, its location along the stream of River Cauvery makes its surroundings even more happening.
The months between August and February are considered to be the best time to enjoy a visit to the Galibore Nature Camp. Around this time, the monsoon season has freshly left, resulting in even more greener surroundings and the thrusting stream of the Cauvery river.
In addition to this, this time also sees the breeding season for migratory birds like kingfishers, woodpeckers, and fish eagles which can be seen here in flocks.
The Camp has Executive tented cottages with an attached bath. The Camp which aims to bring out the meaning of roughing it, comes with 24 hours electricity. Guests will be provided with hurricane/solar lamps, along with clear night air, untouched by the grimy hands of progress.
Chinin Falls: A very famous attraction among the locals, the Chinin Falls have become a go-to picnic spot for people. The water dropping from a height here creates a small pool where people come to swim and cool off.
Bhagwan Bahubali Statue: This 57-foot tall statue has been exciting people with its brilliant craftsmanship. A visit here will ensure that you experience the holiness of the place while at the same time enjoy the serenity around it.
Cauvery River Stream: The river stream of Cauvery has been providing a home to various animals and birds which can only be seen by visiting here. The stream runs very close to the Galibore Nature Camp, therefore making it easy for you to enjoy a visit.
