A lush, tropical island set in the shimmering waters of a shallow lagoon, ringed by a reef vibrant with marine life. Stay in elegance in Villas created from timber and sandstone, poised and peaceful over a translucent lagoon, or nestled discreetly among exotic blooms by the beach. Revel in romantic privacy on the perfect vacation. The essence of the Maldives, defined at Baros.
Baros Maldives is a small island close to Male’ city set in a turquoise lagoon with villas secluded in palm-shaded glades by a white sandy beach or perched over-water with a private sun deck. Many of the elegant, sandstone and timber, palm-thatched villas have their own plunge pool and some have a spa bath too.
Every villa is private, has an espresso machine and a wine and mini-bar; in-villa entertainment includes a flat-screen TV and iPod dock. Guests can pamper themselves at the Spa or take a dip in the overwater infinity pool. Water sports and yoga are available; the resort also has a library lounge and free in-room WiFi.
A Villa Host is on call around the clock providing a discreet, personalized service making every stay hassle-free. The resort has both an EcoDive and a Marine Center.
Three restaurants cater for fine dining, sea-food and Asian delicacies and private dining can be arranged in-villa, on an isolated sandbank or on a deck over the lagoon. The Sails Bar serves drinks all day under the palms and there is a sea-view evening cocktail and cigar lounge.
Room service is available for 24-hour. Baros Maldives is a 25-minute speedboat ride from Male International Airport. Airport transfer is available at a charge.
This eco-friendly resort has a luxury spa, overwater infinity pool and the country's oldest dive centre. This award-winning resort has luxurious villas with Espresso machines, wine chillers and yoga mats. The staff speaks Hindi and Tamil, making you feel at home in a new city. Dine at any of its 5 eateries or opt for a private dinner on the beach or overwater piano deck.
Is it the clear skies and sunny days you are after? Or relatively cool temperatures? December to February is the best period to visit Baros island thanks to perfect weather conditions catering to uncompromised outdoor adventures. Marine life teems on reachable surfaces, wind conditions for surfing is at its best and the weather stays pleasant throughout this period if not the whole year. Having said that, May to October is the second-best time to visit Baros — it may rain intermittently but you can look at saving some money on hotel and flight fares.
If you are a honeymoon couple, look out for classic candle night dinners and champagne parties. There are resorts available for conducting parties on request, aiming at making the special events unforgettable for you and your loved ones. All the more, Baros differs from most other destinations by being versatile to all kinds of travellers. There is enough entertainment inside and outside of the hotel to keep both adults and kids of a family entertained. From Vabbininfaru to Angsana, the beaches here are well worth your visit.
Baros island also takes preservation seriously and its unadulterated beauty is only a byproduct of the same. In the wake of increased tourism, great care goes into retaining the ecosystem of the place and it is easy to see how. What do you call a place where you can see unspoilt nature, popping coral reefs, wholesome aquatic species that complement the other oceanic elements, and a lot more? A heaven, indeed. In a nutshell, experience the typical elements of a tropical vacation in Baros — the sun, the sand, and the sea.
As you already know, Baros can only be reached by a speedboat or a seaplane. But being located close to the Maldives international airport, you can reach Baros island in just 25 to 30 minutes by a boat. Most of the resorts offer pick-up from airports, so check beforehand if your hotel provides the same.
