This safari provides the perfect week away for a family looking for some adventure, or a couple looking to experience the Canadian wilderness. Lodging at the wonderful Tweedsmuir Park Lodge, home to great wines and inspired cuisine, you set out each day on a variety of excursions, from drifting down the river watching grizzly bears as they fish, taking scenic helicopter flights over glaciated valleys, embarking on nature walks through the forests or just soaking in the hot tub.

  1. Day 1: VANCOUVER - BELLA COOLA

    Arrive at Tweedsmuir by plane or car and take in your surroundings before receiving your lodge orientation and bear safety briefing. After that you'll be straight out for your first excursion – a drift down the Atnarko River. Grizzlies aren't the only wildlife you may encounter though, so look out for otters, bald eagles and black bears too.

  2. Day 2: BELLA COOLA VALLEY

    Rise before breakfast and head down to the Wildlife Viewing Station which is ideally located for early-morning bear activity. Back to the lodge for breakfast before going out again with your naturalist guide for a nature walk around the park, learning to track the bears' movements. You can enjoy a picnic in the park's lush surroundings while discussing the morning's sightings. Continue looking for bears and perhaps opt for a hike to Stillwater Lake in the afternoon, then go back to the lodge to freshen up for dinner.

  3. Day 3: BELLA COOLA VALLEY

    Similarly to yesterday, you can start the day with bear sightings from the on-site Wildlife Viewing Station and a choice of hot or continental breakfasts. Next you will head out for another drift down the meandering Atnarko River between massive, snow-capped peaks; relax and enjoy the scenery, whilst keeping your eyes firmly peeled for wildlife; especially, of course, grizzly bears. Finish the afternoon with more nature walks and hikes around the stunning Tweedsmuir Park.

  4. Day 4: BELLA COOLA VALLEY

    Today is your chance to learn about the history and culture of Bella Coola Valley. Take in the pristine landscapes, discover historical totem poles and visit the culturally modified ancient cedar trees with your guide on hand to explain all about these unusual finds. Enjoy lunch at Clayton Falls Park overlooking the fjord, before heading to Bella Coola town to pick up any souvenirs you may want from this amazing destination.

  5. Day 5: BELLA COOLA VALLEY

    Enjoy another day of activities, from river drifts and nature walks to fishing and bear viewing. You'll now be well-versed in what to look for when searching for bears, so your sightings should be good. Dine at the lodge for one final evening meal recounting stories of your exciting sightings with staff and guests.

  6. Day 6: BELLA COOLA - VANCOUVER

    Depending on whether you are departing by plane or car, you may have some time to relax at the lodge and take in your last few moments with the bears near the Wildlife Viewing Station. Say goodbye to Tweedsmuir Park and ensure you have all your memory cards packed with your many wildlife photos, ready to show your friends and family upon your return.

Essential

1) It is mandatory to carry the original government-issued any valid ID cards for Indian nationals and original passports for foreign nationals. 2) Sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen lotions. 3) T-shirt, shirt or blouse - long sleeves and collars help to protect from the sun and mosquitoes (Neutral or Non-bright colored) 4) Comfortable walking shoes (or boots) and socks. 5) Preventative pharmaceuticals.

Refund

Life is unpredictable and we understand that sometimes you have to cancel or change your trip dates and it is our endeavour to make it as easy as possible for you. However, please understand that we plan everything including guide fees, permits, accommodation, and ration in advance. Therefore, any cancellation means inconvenience and certain losses to the people involved in various stages of the program. Keeping that in mind, our cancellation charges are as below,

Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the event: Full refund as cash. Cancellations between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the event: 50 % refund as cash. Cancellations less than 15 days to the start of the event: No refund. Cancellations will be accepted only by email.

Note: We reserve the right to cancel a program before departure in the event of logistical problems arising due to natural calamities, strikes, wars or any other circumstances that make the event inadvisable. In this case, we will refund 50% of the event fees.
