From the deep ravines of the Chambal River to the granite hills of Bera, you are likely to witness incredible wildlife including Asiatic leopards and endangered gharial crocodiles.     Arrive Delhi

    Today you will arrive into the bustling city of Delhi, where upon arrival you will be met by our local representative and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon you will be taken on a guided tour around the narrow, vibrant streets of Old Delhi and the formal parks and boulevards of New Delhi, visiting the Red Fort, Parliament Building and Humanyun's Tomb, often considered a forerunner to the Taj Mahal.

    Delhi - Chambal

    This morning you will be transferred (approximately 5 hours drive) to Chambal. A world apart from the chaotic madness of Delhi, the deep ravines and rugged landscapes of the Chambal River host a rich diversity of wildlife. A 400km stretch of the river was designated as a protected area in 1979 to protect the resident gharial crocodiles, forming the National Chambal Sanctuary. The sanctuary is also home to the endangered Ganges river dolphin, eight species of turtle and 311 bird species. In the evening you will be taken to Bateshwar, an important Hindu spiritual site, and visit the Bateshwarnath temple on the banks of the river.

    Chambal

    Today you will embark on a boat safari on the peaceful waters of the Chambal River, joined by an expert naturalist guide for some spectacular wildlife viewing opportunities. In the afternoon you will take a camel ride through the ravines to the historic ruins of the Ater Fort, where you can enjoy commanding views over the Chambal valley.

    Chambal - Ramathra

    This morning you will head out on a jeep safari in the Chambal ravines, looking out for wildlife such as Blackbuck deer and numerous bird species. Afterwards, you will be driven (approximately 5.5 hours) to your hotel, set within the stunning Ramathra Fort.

  5. Day 5

    Ramathra

    This morning you will pay a visit to one of the remote villages around the Ramathra Fort and meet the local people. This sparsely populated region is rich in wildlife, including several varieties of deer, wolves, hyenas and leopards and is a tranquil haven away from the busy urban centres. Later in the day you will head to the picturesque Kalisil Dam for a sunset boat ride, with great opportunities for birdwatching.

    Ramathra - Shahpura

    This morning you will be driven (approximately 6 hours) to Shahpura and check in to your hotel, the Shahpura Bagh. The historic summer residence of the Rajadhiraj of Shahpura, the property has been beautifully restored, set within 30 acres of woodland with it's own private lakes.

    Shahpura - Chhatra Sagar

    Spend the morning relaxing at your hotel or enjoying a boat ride on the nearby lake, before you are transferred to Chhatra Sagar, where you will be staying in a luxurious lakeside tent. Take a walk around the lake in the late afternoon, returning to camp in time for sundowners on the dam.

    Chhatra Sagar

    Spend today relaxing in your surroundings or enjoying one of the activities available at your camp; take a birdwatching tour, nature walk or jeep safari into the surrounding countryside, go boating on the lake or visit one of the local Bishnoi villages.

    Chhatra Sagar - Bera

    After a leisurely breakfast you will be driven (approximately 3 hours) to Bera. Bera Safari Lodge is located in one of the best areas in Rajasthan for leopard viewing, and you will be joined by one of the regions best trackers. In the evning, head out on a jeep safari to Bera Rock for your first leopard tracking safari.

  10. Day 10-11

    Bera

    Spend the next few days searching for leopards amongst the boulders and hills surrounding your safari lodge. Located within the Jawai leopard conservation reserve, this is one of the few places where you may see leopards from the comfort of your lodge. You will head out on two jeep safaris each day, in the morning and afternoon, searching for wildlife such as jackals, hyenas and Asiatic leopards and admiring the granite hills that are scattered across the landscape.

    Bera - Udaipur

    Following your last leopard safari this morning, you will be driven (approximately 3 hours) to Udaipur, known as the 'Venice of the East'. Travelling through the Aravalli Hills, the oldest mountain range in the world, you will stop en route to visit the Ranakpur Temple, an active Jain temple that is renowned for its 1144 distinctively designed pillars.

    Udaipur

    Today you will have a full day sightseeing in the beautiful marbled city of Udaipur. You will start off by visiting the City Palace, a sprawling palace that combines various architectural styles, including some spectacular Mughal inspired artwork. Afterwards, you will head to the Crystal Gallery, home to the largest private collection of crystal in the world, and the Saheliyon Ki Bari, an ornamental pleasure garden with a picturesque lotus pool. In the afternoon, you will take a guided walk through the busy winding streets of the old city, brimming with fascinating antique shops. In the evening, enjoy a sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola.

    Udaipur - Delhi - Depart

    Enjoy a leisurely breakfast this morning before you are met and transferred to the airport for your flight to Delhi, where you will catch your onward flight home.

Life is unpredictable and we understand that sometimes you have to cancel or change your trip dates and it is our endeavor to make it as easy as possible for you. However, please understand that we plan everything including guide fees, permits, accommodation, and ration in advance. Therefore, any cancellation means inconvenience and certain losses to the people involved in various stages of the program. Keeping that in mind, our cancellation charges are as below,

 

  • Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the event: Full refund as cash.
  • Cancellations between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the event: 50 % refund as cash.
  • Cancellations less than 15 days to the start of the event: No refund.
  • Cancellations will be accepted only by email.

 

Note: We reserve the right to cancel a program before departure in the event of logistical problems arising due to natural calamities, strikes, wars or any other circumstances that make the event inadvisable. In this case, we will refund 50% of the event fees.
