Arunachal Pradesh Bike Ride (from Guwahati) 8D 7N - Land of Dawn Lit Mountains

Trip starts from Guwahati. We ride through the plain lands and wildlife of Kaziranga National Park and continue the journey towards the less explored regions of Arunachal Pradesh. We cross the beautiful Dirang Valley and high altitude mountain pass called 'Sela Pass' to reach the majestic Tawang Valley which is house to the second largest Monastery in the world "The Tawang Monastery". For the Off-Roading junkies, the ride takes you to the Bum La pass at the China Border.

  1. Day 1: Arrive Guwahati

    • Meet the fellow travelers and bike allocation will be done in the evening
    • Ride Orientation & Briefing by Road Captain in the evening
    • Overnight stay and dinner at the Guwahati hotel

  2. Day 2: Guwahati to Bhalukpong via Tezpur

    • Early morning after breakfast, we head towards towards Bhalukpong.
    • Riding on the picturesque plains of Assam we will cross the state border and enter into the hills Arunachal Pradesh.
    • Complete evening is at leisure followed by dinner and stay at hotel.

  3. Day 3: Bhalukpong to Dirang via Tenga

    • We start the day with early breakfast and start the ride towards Dirang
    • The ride to Dirang is across isolated thick forests. This day will test your offroading skills on the muddy roads
    • We will reach Dirang by the evening. The evening will be at leisure followed by dinner and stay at hotel

  4. Day 4: Dirang to Tawang via Sela Pass

    • Today we head to the dream destination Tawang
    • Morning we will visit Dirang Dzong, a Fortress that was built in 17th century. Enroute Tawang, we ride across the high altitude mountain pass Sela Pass which stands tall at 13,700 ft. From Sela Top. one can get the picturesque view of Sela Loops, the picture perfect winding road
    • After spending some time at Sela Top and Sela Lake, we head towards Tawang
    • We will reach Tawang by the evening. Complete evening will be at leisure to explore the market, followed by dinner at hotel

  5. Day 5: Ride to Bum La & Tawang Local

    • The day arrives when we ride to China Border towards Bumla Pass, one of the most remote mountain passes in India
    • The day will start with early breakfast. Ride to Bum La is of 35 KM which takes around 3 Hrs to reach. One can see China from the border.
    • On the way back to Tawang, we visit the famous Sangestar lake and reach Tawang by evening
    • Visit the Monastery in the evening and post that the evening will be free
    • We will call off the day after dinner

  6. Day 6: Tawang to Bomdila via Sela Pass

    • This day we will start our ride back to Bomdila. The ride will be relaxed and normal
    • On the way to Bomdila we visit famous Jung Falls
    • Once again riding across the Dirang valley we will arrive beautiful town of Bomdila by evening
    • Overnight stay followed by dinner will be in hotel

  7. Day 7: Bomdila to Guwahati via Kalakthang

    • The final day of our adventurous ride. This day we head towards Guwahati
    • On the way we will ride across Rupa valley, and visit Chillipam monastery, It gives 270 degree view of Eastern Himalayas
    • We continue our ride to Guwahati passing across Shergaon, Kalakthang and reach Guwahati by evening
    • This is the last night of the trip with your fellow travellers. Do not forget to exchange the pics and videos of the adventurous ride.
    • Overnight stay and dinner will be at hotel

  8. Day 8: Depart from Guwahati

What is the fitness requirement for Northeast Bike Ride ?

  • During the ride we will cover the areas with altitude ranging from 6000 ft to 15200 ft. In the higher altitudes like Bum La, Sangster Lake the air is very thin. So starting with some cardio exercises 1 month prior to the ride is the best way to prepare your health for this ride.

From where the Bike ride will start ?

  • Bike ride will start from Guwahati, Assam.

Is my Travel to Guwahati and Back to my hometown covered in this package ?

  • No, Travel to Guwahati and Back to the hometown of riders is not covered in the tour cost.

What will be the riding distance on each day ?

  • The riding distance on each day differs, however on an average we will be riding around 150 KM on daily basis.

Do i need to carry my own riding gears ?

  • Yes, you need to carry your riding gears. we provide Helmets along with the bikes to the riders as well as the pillions.

What kind of Bikes we will ride during this tour ?

  • We will provide you with Royal Enfield 350/500 CC bikes.

Will we be staying in Camps or Hotels during the ride ?

  • Your accommodation will be in Hotels on each day. The rooms will be allotted on double occupancy basis.

What kind of clothing is required for this trip ?

  • You can find all the necessary details about clothing in the essentials section.

Are there any chances of getting Acute Mountain Sickness in Ladakh ? If yes, then how to prevent it ?

  • As you know we will be riding to some high altitude places in this ride like Bum La (15200 ft) and Sangestar Lake, so there are chances of getting Acute Mountain Sickness. However, it can be prevented if you keep your body hydrated by drinking lot of water throughout the day. Secondly, you should not over exert yourself in the High Altitude Mountain Passes by running and doing more physical activities. It is advisable that you do not spend more than 15 minutes in the Mountain Passes.

Will there be oxygen cylinder as a backup ?

  • Yes, we carry oxygen cylinder as a backup.

If i am riding with a pillion, where will i keep my luggage ?

  • We have a dedicated backup vehicle which goes along with the riding group. All the central equipments along with the luggage of the riders will be carried in the Back Up vehicle. You only have to tie your day pack in the bike.

What will happen if there is any breakdown ?

  • All our bikes are in best conditions so the breakdown are a far distant thing to happen. But, in case of a breakdown, there is a Mechanic who accompany the whole group throughout the ride with spare parts.

Are there any permits required for visiting Arunachal Pradesh?

  • Yes, Inner Line Permits are required to visit Arunachal Pradesh. All the Permits will be provided by our team.

Do i need to carry any Identity Proof with me for this ride ?

  • Yes, you need to carry your valid 6 passport size photographs, Driving License, ID proof and Address proof. Your ID Proof and Address proof will be required to get the Inner Line Permits.

Refund

Life is unpredictable and we understand that sometimes you have to cancel or change your trip dates and it is our endeavor to make it as easy as possible for you. However, please understand that we plan everything including guide fees, permits, accommodation and ration in advance. Therefore, any cancellation means inconvenience and certain losses to the people involved in various stages of the program. Keeping that in mind, our cancellation charges are as below,

  • Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the event: Full refund as cash.
  • Cancellations between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the event: 50 % refund as cash.
  • Cancellations less than 15 days to the start of the event: No refund.
  • Cancellations will be accepted only by email.

Note: We reserve the right to cancel a program before departure in the event of logistical problems arising due to natural calamities, strikes, wars or any other circumstances that make the event inadvisable. In this case, we will refund 50% of the event fees.
