A private safari with expert guide to see the grizzlies of Taku River exclusively whilst staying at T'a Ish Adventures Lodge.

A spectacular, private itinerary with up to just 8 guests at a time. Phil Timpany will be your highly trained and knowledgeable guide as you explore the pristine wilderness and wonderful wildlife surrounding the Taku River, near the Yukon border in British Columbia. Within this area of 4 million acres there are no roads to distract you as you scour for grizzly bears whilst they fatten up for the cold winter months on spawning salmon.

  1. DAY 1 WHITEHORSE - NAKINA RIVER

    From Whitehorse there is a scenic 2 hour transfer to Atlin where you will be met by helicopter and flown to base camp. After a safety briefing and orientation, you will begin your quest in the largest pristine watershed of the Western Hemisphere. The grizzlies are usually found fishing for salmon as they return to the place they were born up the Nakina River, this is where the true adventure begins…

  2. DAYS 2-4 NAKINA RIVER

    Throughout these three days you will co-exist with the grizzly bears, watch them as the sun rises over breakfast, hunting for salmon up and down the river as eagles swoop above you hoping for a catch of their own. Learn all about the bears, their social behaviour, the seasons of the river, the adaptations that make them so good at what they do. Bears are common in close range to the camp, but if they’re not there they won’t be too far off…

  3. DAY 5 NAKINA RIVER

    Today you will bid farewell to Nakina River and will catch a helicopter flight, after breakfast, back to Atlin. From here you will be transferred to the Whitehorse Airport for your onward flight.

Medical Kit Required

Essential

  • It is mandatory to carry the original government-issued any valid ID cards for Indian nationals and original passports for foreign nationals.
  • Sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen lotions.
  • T-shirt, shirt or blouse - long sleeves and collars help to protect from the sun and mosquitoes (Neutral or Non-bright colored)
  • Comfortable walking shoes (or boots) and socks.
  • Preventative pharmaceuticals.

Refund

Life is unpredictable and we understand that sometimes you have to cancel or change your trip dates and it is our endeavor to make it as easy as possible for you. However, please understand that we plan everything including guide fees, permits, accommodation and ration in advance. Therefore, any cancellation means inconvenience and certain losses to the people involved in various stages of the program. Keeping that in mind, our cancellation charges are as below,

 

  • Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the event: Full refund as cash.
  • Cancellations between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the event: 50 % refund as cash.
  • Cancellations less than 15 days to the start of the event: No refund.
  • Cancellations will be accepted only by email.

 

Note: We reserve the right to cancel a program before departure in the event of logistical problems arising due to natural calamities, strikes, wars or any other circumstances that make the event inadvisable. In this case, we will refund 50% of the event fees.
