Adventure in Meghalaya

Caving is a unique adventure that can be experienced at selected places. Meghalaya’s southern slopes have an abundance of limestone which has led to the formation of more than 1200 caves. Each cave has its own formation history. One can find formations like cave curtains, cave pearls, stalactites, candles etc. inside these caves. The passages are alive in these caves and one can navigate through these with help of experienced cavers. These thousand-year-old marvels are worth exploring and enthrall with an out-of-the-world experience. The Krem Dam is the biggest sandstone cave while the Krem Mawkhyrdrop is filled with exquisite fauna representing biodiversity. Guides are easily available for trekking and caving in Meghalaya. If you have a restless heart and want to enjoy a vibrant and festive place, then Meghalaya is the right destination to quench your thirst for adventure.

  1. Day 1-River Canyoning and Kayaking in Mawlyngbna, Camping in Mawlyngbna

    We will receive you from the Guwahati Airport at 12 noon and will immediately leave for Mawlyngbna. The journey will take 4hrs and it passes though Mawsynram, which is the wettest place on earth. In Mawlyngbna you will experience River Canyoning and Kayaking in the Umkhakoi reservoir. Activities will be done in the next morning. We will Camp in the Traveller’s Nest, Mawlyngbna.

  2. Day 2-Cherrapunjee Sightseeing, Caving in Maumluh, Camping in Cherrapunjee

    Next morning, after the activities we will go to Cherrapunjee. We spend the day in Cherrapunjee experiencing various caves and waterfalls in and around the town. The prime activity for the day will be caving in the Maumluh cave. We will camp in Cherrapunjee in our camping location which is located near the Daintlem Falls.

  3. Day 3-Double Decker Root Bridge Trek, Camping in Nongriat

    After breakfast we will visit a few more places in Cherrapunjee and then leave for Tryna Village which is the starting point to the Nongriat Village Trek(Double Decker Root Bridge Trek). The trek is about 2hrs. We will have our lunch in the Nongriat Village. After lunch we will visit the famous double Decker root bridge. We will camp in the village for the night.

  4. Day 4-Sightseeing in Dawki and Homestay in Mawlynnong

    After Breakfast, we will trek back to Tryna Village from where we will leave for Dawki, which is bordering town in the Indo-Bangla Border. In Dawki we will have a boat ride in Umngot River. The river is famous for its crystal clear waters. After lunch we will go to Mawlynnong village, which is considered as one of the cleanest village in the world. Our stay will be in a homestay in the village.

  5. Day 5-Shillong Sightseeing

    After breakfast we drive back to Guwahati. On our way back to Guwahati, we stop in Shillong for some sightseeing in and around the city.

Life is unpredictable and we understand that sometimes you have to cancel or change your trip dates and it is our endeavor to make it as easy as possible for you. However, please understand that we plan everything including guide fees, permits, accommodation, and ration in advance. Therefore, any cancellation means inconvenience and certain losses to the people involved in various stages of the program. Keeping that in mind, our cancellation charges are as below,

  • Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the event: Full refund as cash.
  • Cancellations between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the event: 50 % refund as cash.
  • Cancellations less than 15 days to the start of the event: No refund.
  • Cancellations will be accepted only by email.

Note: We reserve the right to cancel a program before departure in the event of logistical problems arising due to natural calamities, strikes, wars or any other circumstances that make the event inadvisable. In this case, we will refund 50% of the event fees.
