Wildlife Safari in Panna National Park
Dense deciduous forests, historical remains, amazingly unique landforms, and hundreds of wildlife, all together give a unique identity to Panna. Even today, efforts are on to make Panna the best wildlife habitat. The beauty of this sanctuary spread in the lap of Vindhyachal can mesmerize anyone. The lush green trees and beautiful weather present in the forest are no less than a paradise for any wildlife lover.
Panna saw many phases of life.
The Panna National Park, famous for its dense deciduous forest, also saw a period when the number of tigers in the forest had become negligible, although even in such conditions, the Panna Forest Department did not give up and within a few years, the security of the forest was increased and two female Tigress from Bandhavgarh and Kanha and one male tiger from Pench Tiger Reserve were brought to the forest.
After this, gradually the number of tigers started increasing in the park, as a result of this, there are about 50 tigers present in the entire park. Keeping in view this hard work of the Panna Forest Department, many wildlife experts from all over the country and abroad come here to know how to conserve tigers.
Panna is rich in history.
This beautiful Park was formed in 1981. After a decade of continuous efforts, this park was given the status of Tiger Reserve in the year 1994. If locals are to be believed, then Panna is related to Mahabharata. It is believed that the Pandavas spent a long period in the dense forests of Panna during their exile.
UNESCO gave Panna the title of 'World Network of Biosphere Reserve'.
Last year Panna Tiger Reserve was listed in the 'World Network of Biosphere Reserve' by UNESCO. This commendable step taken by UNESCO will help in the discovery of new measures towards the conservation and sustainability of the wildlife present in Panna.
Ken river enhances the beauty of Panna.
The Ken River, rich in amazing beauty, is home to crocodiles, turtles, and many other aquatic creatures. One should not miss the first ray of sunset on the Ken river emerging from the middle of the lush green mountains. The waterfall present in the river adds more beauty to this river.
