October to April (winter) is the best time to visit Vythiri, however, the pleasant climate makes Vythiri worth a visit throughout the year. Summer (April to June)  is the best off-season time to visit Vythiri. 

The off-season prices are a steal as well, with accommodation at luxurious resorts and homestays costing way lesser than seasonal prices. The hill station of Wayanad experiences 20 days of rainfall per month between July and September (monsoon) and Vythiri is no exception.  There is a risk of landslides as well, so speak to the local authorities before you plan a visit to Vythiri in the monsoon.

  • By Train- Those who plan to reach Vythiri by train can board a train to Kozhikode, for it is the nearest railway station. The Kozhikode railway station features a large number of trains plying between all the major destinations in Kerala including Kochi, Ernakulam and Trivandrum. A large number of trains are also available to reach other cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore and Mangalore. On reaching Kozhikode railway station one can board a bus or hire a private taxi to reach Vythiri.
  • By Air- The nearest airport to reach Vythiri hill station is located in Kozhikode. The international airport present in Kozhikode is well-connected with all the major domestic and international cities. Frequent flights are available in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Bangalore along with many of the gulf countries. After arriving at the Kozhikode airport one can hire a private taxi to reach Vythiri.

By Road- One can also take a road route to reach the picturesque hill station of Vythiri. The place lies at a convenient distance of two hour drive away from Kozhikode.
