1. KUNCHIKAL FALLS, KARNATAKA

It is the highest waterfalls in India and second highest in Asia. It has a height of 1,493 ft. is located near Agumbe in Shimoga district of Karnataka. This one receives a very heavy rainfall and it has the only permanent rain forest research station in India.


2. NOHKALIKAI FALLS, MEGHALAYA

This is one of the tallest waterfalls in India. It is located near Cherrapunji, East Khasi Hills district Meghalya with a height of 1,120 ft. It is very famous for hills, rainfall, oranges , bridges etc.


3. NOHSNGITHIANG FALLS, MEGHALAYA

This one is of the largest waterfalls in the East Khasi district of Meghalaya. The falls formed immediately after the confluence of the diverged streams from a height of 1,033 ft. You can expect these falls in full flow throughout the year.Trust me it is one of the awesome waterfall in India.


4. DUDHSAGAR FALLS, GOA , KARNATAKA

Dudhsagar here refers to “ ocean of milk”. When the water falls down from a height of 1020 ft, it seems sort of milky water. This is the fifth highest waterfall in India with a great tourist attraction of Goa apart from its exotic beaches.


5. IRUPPU FALLS, COORG

It is one of the popular hill stations of South India with plenty of beautiful places . This fall is located close to Nagarhole National Park. People flock to the waterfalls during Shivratri to wash their sins before they head to the nearby temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.


6. JANG FALLS, TAWANG, ARUNACHAL PRADESH

For this waterfall, you need to first trek a distance of about 200 meters from the power station. This waterfall not only serve as a tourist attraction, but also a source of the electricity for the people of Arunachal Pradesh.


7. KUNE FALLS, MAHARAHSTRA

8. BHIMLAT FALLS, RAJASTHAN

The bhimlat water fall is a big secret of Rajasthan as we consider it very hot, sand dunes and a rugged terrain. Bundi Village which is closer to this waterfall receives more average rainfall than Delhi during Monsoons. It is 60 meters high.


9. ATHIRAPALLY FALLS, THRISSUR, KERALA

The gem of the Thrissur district is the Athirapally falls which can be seen in full flow during the rainy season. It has natural beauty all around and as they are far high from the Jog Falls of Karnataka but they are definitely a sight to behold.


10. HOGENAKKAL FALLS, TAMIL NADU

It is unofficially called as “ Niagara of India”. That pretty much tells us the how beautiful it would be , located in Dharampuri district of Tamil Nadu. It is the major tourist attraction of Tamil Nadu and also well known for its disease curing properties.


11. SHIVASAMUDRAM FALLS, KARNATAKA

You can say Karnataka as the “State of Waterfalls in India”. These falls are stand out for their sheer volume. During the monsoon season, as much as 19 million litres of water is discharged every second from these falls. This is one of the few waterfalls which are sight to behold even when during the dry months.


12. BHAGSU WATERFALL , HIMACHAL PRADESH

13. SOOCHIPPARA FALLS , KARNATAKA

This fall is also known as “Sentinel Rock Waterfalls and are located 23kms away from Kalpetta, in the Vellarimala village. It is the perfect spot for picnic , trekking and rock climbing that gives you a stunning view. Highly recommended place to go out with friends.


14. ELEPHANT FALLS, SHILLONG

It is situated at the outskirts of Shillong. The uniqueness of this waterfall is that it falls in the three sections. It is also one of the busiest spot around if you visit during monsoon. During the season even the local can’t resist to take one glimpse of this fall.


15. JOG FALLS, KARNATAKA

Jog Falls is the tallest un-tiered waterfall in India located in the district border of Shimoga and Uttar Kannada. It surrounded by the lush green forests. The nearby area makes for a perfect trekking spot. For the swimmers, you can hike down to the base and take a plunge into the river. There is so much to explore at one place that you cannot say no to it.
