Best Time to Visit The Standard, Maldives

Maldives is a beach destination that is sun-kissed and has weather which is year-round suitable for a trip. However, the best time to visit Maldives is between November and April, i.e., during the dry season. December to March marks the peak tourist season or the best season to visit The Standard as, during this season, rainfall is almost negligible, and weather remains extremely pleasant. This period is also regarded as the best season to visit The Standard for the honeymoon as couples get an opportunity to enjoy all types of activities due to ideal weather conditions. Though is the busiest season in the Maldives, it is also the period when beach resorts in the Maldives are expensive.

Things to do in The Standard

Sunset Drinks at Beru Bar- This over-water club for adults only features a 2-meter-tall disco ball and an outstanding menu of tropical-inspired beverages. Hold your chic drink up against the breathtaking sunset backdrop, and there you have a shot that is perfect for Instagram. If you're in the mood for some light snacking, we suggest giving the coconut prawns a try as well. Here, you may take in stunning sunsets and subsequently dance to music with Maldivian influences while gazing down at the underwater life.

Scuba diving- Scuba diving is surprisingly not at all difficult to learn and there's no better time to start. The Standard, Maldives is located right between the Raa and Baa atolls, the two atolls barely affected by coral bleaching. PADI courses and open water dives are also available upon request.

The Standard Spa- The CBD Honey Facial is a must-try for facial lovers, and includes a hydrating honey mask and jade roller massage, and ends with a quick scalp & foot rub. Another treatment that you should try is the Rock-a-Bye, a 90-minute rhythmic massage that puts you into a deep meditative state using Lomi Lomi, Reiki, and Tai Chi techniques.

Wakeboarding and Windsurfing- It goes without saying how unbelievably blue and clear the water is, you can spend your afternoon in the sun speeding over the turquoise water wakeboarding or windsurfing. Both activities are no doubt physically challenging but incredibly exhilarating once you get a hang of it. You’re in good hands at the resort, as Farouk, the headwater sports instructor or any of the other instructors will be right with you making sure you’re safe. You can opt to wear a life vest if you’re not a strong swimmer as well.

Excursions- If you’re looking for something less physical, we recommend going on an excursion and exploring what the Maldives have to offer. You have plenty of options such as dolphin spotting, line fishing and snorkelling with turtles and Manta Rays. You can also request a local island tour to experience the local Maldivian culture. These highlights are not necessarily in the sun, so it can be scheduled on days when you think you need a break from the blazing heat.

Dining at The Standard

Kula- Kula is their all-day dining restaurant with a breezy and bright dining room.

Guduguda- Guduguda features authentic and celebratory Maldivian food.

BBQ Shaq- For a casual beach dinner, swing by their BBQ Shak, where fresh seafood and meats are grilled to perfection over coconut shell charcoal, with a variety of house-made sauces paired with each dish.

Joos Café- Joos Café is the perfect place to relax, lounge or works with a coffee, smoothie or light lunch.

Todis Bar- Todis is the spot for a relaxing and playful afternoon, located just off the pool deck when you need a break from the sun.

Beru Bar- Beru Bar is the adults-only (18+), over-water-club perched just feet above the ocean with a see-through dance floor. Enjoy the breeze with cocktails and fresh tropical juices, and the best sunset-viewing seat in the house. Carry on into the evening, with the largest disco ball in the Maldives and dance the night away.
