You're invited to The Maldives, a paradise of white sand beaches and turquoise lagoons. The Meerufenfushi island in the North Male' Atoll's lone resort, Meeru Island Resort & Spa, is 1200 meters long and 350 meters broad, or roughly 32 hectares.

With 286 rooms and a devoted following of return visitors, the premium Meeru resort in the Maldives is not only the third-oldest but also the third-largest resort. It appeals to people of all ages because there are two distinct pools, two buffet restaurants, and two spas. Families and couples each have their own portion of the island. Most visitors are on all-inclusive packages, so the bars are busy, especially the ones that are open round-the-clock. A plethora of water sports, excursions, a driving range, and even a golf course are available during the day, in addition to a diving center with lessons in French, German, or English.

Although a boat ride is necessary to snorkel in the house reef, many people are content to stay put on the picturesque beaches. Many of the beautiful four-poster king-size beds in the rustic-luxe rooms feature mosquito netting and arched wood roofs. Some of the rooms are overwater, some are on the beach, and some have jacuzzi tubs in open-air bathrooms. Prices are reasonable, however service often seems inconsistent.

How to Reach Meeru Island Resort & Spa

Meeru Resort is located on Meerufenfushi Island, which is approximately 45 km from Mali airport.  From there, you’ll need to get a speedboat directly to the island which takes around 50 minutes. This is a great option for those who don’t like flying in tiny planes. Plus speedboat transfers cost a lot less than seaplane transfers.
