Retreat into the realm of nature with a visit to Kavadi Kere when you are making a trip to Dandeli. While exploring Kavadi Kere, tourists should not miss paying a visit to a nearby temple dedicated to Goddess Durgadevi.

One of the popular legends associated with the lake says that when the Pandavas were passing through this region during their exile, once Draupadi felt very thirsty and asked Bheema to search for water. After failing to find any water, Bheema prayed to Goddess Durga who blessed him to get water from the Ganga.

Thus, Bheema brought a number of pots to make this lake and established an idol of the goddess where she is revered at the temple. It is a gorgeous lake that is renowned for its unforgettable landscape reflecting the sky and the hills in its clear waters. The scenic beauty of this lake is unparalleled and offers a delightful landscape for photographers and nature lovers.
