Even till date, there are nearly 155 villages in the Buffer zone of 1005 km and over 255 villages inside the radius of 10 km around Kanha.

The Park has a moderate climate which has resulted in rich flora. Sal, Saja, India, Tendu, Bija, Dhawa, and Bamboo, etc are some of the majority found floras.
