With the outbreak of Coronavirus, the economic state across the world has seen a bigger loss on the GDP. And one of the most affected industries is undoubtedly the travel industry, which has immediately come to a standstill across the globe. To be precise, and to look at the bigger picture, it is through the travel industry that other industries are connected and consequently faced a tremendous loss. Airways, railways, hospitality, and related sectors have been affected immensely due to it interlink with the travel industry. This has been one of the toughest hits to the year 2020, because of the outbreak of COVID-19. The sector is undoubtedly experiencing a sharp drop across the globe, putting many small and medium enterprises at stake.
Due to its major fall in the tourism, the travel industry will see at least a year to witness normalcy, when people are willing and ready to travel back. With the travel industry the purchase and the sale, imports, and exports, are also narrowed resulting in a global shortage of regular goods. Many countries are thus looking at going local and build a sustainable economy. As per the forecast of The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), about 50 to 75 million people will be unemployed in the industry along with the ones who are interlinked to the industry. The forecast is much more intense and vulnerable as it is through tourism, that half of the population is been fed and has a secure livelihood so far. Population with low-skilled and lower social security schemed who seek temporary jobs are the largest employee holder in the travel industry. To conclude with the statement, overall, the employment and the economic growth in the travel sector will see major change which will be an awakening signal for the industry.
To keep going, countries across the globe are trying to keep the circle into a closed one and focusing on improvising the economy on their own. Likewise, the new normalcy will be maintained, and the travel industry must buck up to deal with the eventuality. Nonetheless, when you talk about globetrotters, they are the only community that will be the whole target audience in this scenario. Perhaps the lifting of the restriction will free the soul of the enclosed walls and allow the breath of fresh air of tourism. But with the upliftment, the travel industry will see many significant changes to secure both the customers and to maintain their economy in sync. Although one might see the slightest change in the behavior of the trotter which needs to be planned similarly. Well according to the insights, below are some of the pointers will be take in the consideration to plan the roadmap for the travel industry accordingly.
