Amboseli and Marsabit National Park - Kenya

GET QUOTES

Many safari fans ask if it is worth visiting Amboseli National Park as part of Kenya's safari itinerary. Experts comment on this small but valuable safari destination in southern Kenya on the border with Tanzania:

1. Amboseli National Park - Kenya

With the towering Kilimanjaro in the background, you can see everything from lush, pristine swamps to vast, dry plains. "Amboseri" is a twist on the English word "empsel," which means "salty, dry place," but the underground stream that flows from the melting ice cap of Kiri provides enough water for a particular area of the park. Supply and attract elephants. Many birds. Some of the forested swamps are fenced to prevent elephants from passing through the trees and to give time for vegetation to recover. During the long rains of March-April, the dry plains can become shallow lakes full of stag beetles (there are 400 species here alone). Amboseli is so small that it is easy for rangers to patrol and is in very good condition. The Amboseli is perfect for first-time safari visitors and first-time Kenya visitors. Due to its compact size, you can see almost all sides in about two days, and because it's close to Nairobi, you don't have to follow a long-haul flight for a very long drive or another long flight. Short-haul flights between Wilson and Amboseli airports take less than an hour by light aircraft. Amboseli is definitely a convenient place to embark on a Kenyan safari. Being close to Nairobi means that many Kenyans drive here during weekends and school vacations, and traffic congestion can occur between Easter and Christmas, so African safari experts travel. We will help you plan.

Fauna of Amboseli National Park - Kenya?

The variety of landscapes is reflected in the variety of games. Elephants are frequently witnessed and are often known by name in guides studied by researchers at the Amboseli Elephant Research Center. There is also a baboon research centre here to learn more about these highly social, curious and intellectual primates. We cannot guarantee the Big 5 of Amboseli. Leopards and rhinos are virtually non-existent here. But don't put it off as it's easy to find elsewhere in Kenya (Lewa is great for rhinos and Masai Mara is great for leopards). I also like the dryness of the northern sambles, so I don't see any strange proportions of Gerenuk. But you need to see a variety of birds, Bat-eared foxes (very rare sightings), giraffes, lions, buffalos, cheetahs, and immobile wildebeests. Amboseli is great for "seeing" the eyes of game spotting. Notice the difference between Thomson's Gazelles and Impalas. Masai giraffe; Barchel or plains zebra; and lots of spotted hyenas (known as "spots"-there are no brown hyenas here).

Season analysis

High season: June-October

Great time to watch the game – the grass is short, making it easy to find animals and keeping them close to the water source. It is almost sunny and there is little or no rain.Prices are high and the park can be quite crowded.

Low / Green Season: November-May

Short rains peak in November and long rains peak in April and May.  Amboseli is the best in terms of landscape. It's the perfect time to take a photo. Optimal travel time for bird watching.

The best view of Kilimanjaro-the sky is dust-free.

Low prices and quiet parks due to wet road conditions (around April and May).

The Marsabit National Park is an oasis of inexperience in this arid, wasteland location of Kenya. At the centre of the park is an extinct volcano – the peak of which creates a microclimate that helps a large tract of indigenous wooded area that during flip helps an extensive kind of natural world. The Montane wooded area is provided water with the aid of using thick mist which paperwork in a single day as the recent air rises off the wasteland and cools. The mist frequently lingers until overdue morning.

The wooded area is domestic to an extensive kind of natural world inclusive of Elephants, Rhino, Lion, Buffalo and Leopard.
